Volunteer Opportunities: Yes
World Relief's goal is to STAND for the most vulnerable.
Arriving refugees are victims of injustice, and they may have lost parents, husbands, wives and children. They sometimes walk through the doors of the Boise Airport bearing only the clothing on their backs. Often, they speak no English. The sights and sensations of American culture can make them feel lost, different and very alien.
This is God’s call to us: Insure just treatment for the weakest. Bless them with the necessities of life—clothing, food, shelter, income, safety. Make them welcome in your country, your city, your home, your embrace and in your life.
World Relief assists several hundred refugees a year as they embark on new lives in the Boise area. From the day that refugees arrive at the Boise Airport, they receive care and assistance that help them become established around the Treasure Valley. Housing, medical needs, education and employment requirements are addressed. Hurting refugees from war-torn and oppressive communities are finding peace and security in the heart of Idaho. They are discovering that the Church, the body of Christ, cares about them.
Whatever it takes, and wherever it takes us, we are faithful to our call.
Our mission at World Relief Boise is to STAND for refugees.
In community with the local Church, World Relief envisions the most vulnerable people transformed economically, socially and spiritually.
