Spoken For was formed in 2008 by a group of women. One woman in particular was going through the process of adopting children. She found out that the birth mother was a sex worker in Albuquerque. The children up for adoption also had numerous brothers and sisters who were either taken away by protective services or given up for adoption as well. This life-altering experience left the adopting mother with a burning desire to change the stories of future women and children. Spoken For was born to develop progressive, preventative services for these women, young girls and children who are trapped in commercial sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.
