Tell garment factories to pay and treat their employees fairly
Pono Cocoa began in 2018 as way for chocolate makers, cocoa farmers and other ethical businesses to promote their chocolate goods based on ethicality.
We believe that ethical chocolate means child-slave free. All chocolate and cocoa should be made in a pono way. Pono is the Hawaiian word for "righteousness". It is not enough to make ethical chocolate, we have to actively stop child slave trafficking.
We have 4 pillars to our success. Our vision is to end child slavery now. Step 1, 2, 3 and 4 are educate and enforce child labor laws, create added-value cacao and lobbying congress to end the sale of illegally farmed cocoa, respectively.
