On May 7 – 8, 2004, the Canadian Religious Conference and Kairos Spirituality-for-Social Justice Centre sponsored an educational workshop in Ottawa called: Trafficking in Women and Children: A Lucrative Multinational Business. What is Our Response? The outcomes of this event were: an increased awareness of the issue, increased local interest about the problem of human trafficking, and the formation of PACT- Ottawa (Persons Against the Crime of Trafficking in Humans).
To network with other groups to prevent the trafficking of persons and increase the protection of victims.
To recognize the human dignity and promote the well-being of all trafficked persons.
