Learn How Law Enforcement Agencies Are Fighting Human Trafficking
Police officers, legal advocates, and other law enforcement personnel have a critical role to play in protecting trafficking victims and survivors.
A group of socially committed professionals (teachers, journalists and social workers) formed Maiti Nepal in 1993 to fight child labor and sex trafficking. This social organization also engages in criminal investigation and prosecution. Maiti's focus has always been on the prevention of the trafficking of women and girls. Rescuing girls forced into prostitution and helping them find economic alternatives have been key struggles. Rehabilitation, education and job training are key initiatives.
