History

Founded by Humanity United in 2013, KnowTheChain was initially created to encourage greater corporate understanding of the California Supply Chain Transparency Act. Today, KnowTheChain researches and identifies corporate response trends, develops insights and provides practical resources that enable companies to comply with growing legal obligations and operate more transparently and responsibly. From 2013 to 2015, KnowTheChain sourced information about corporate compliance and worked with companies on their disclosure statements and provided guidance to the UK Home Office for the Modern Slavery Act.
