In eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Heartland Alliance International programs operate in both comprehensive health and social justice to empower the lives and improve the livelihoods of vulnerable individuals. Projects are as follows: Rights Initiative to Enhance Worker Rights in the Kivus (RITEWORK), Mental Health Services in Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Sikia Program: Capacity Building for Mental Health Providers Serving Survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence.
